I had the joy of joining with Jordan Michalski, pastor at Soul Sanctuary in Winnipeg, to talk about the question “Why Do We Preach?” Jordan, who is one of my former students, is in the midst of leading his congregation through a series of sermons reflecting upon what they do when they gather as God’s people to worship.

In addition to my responsibilities in the classroom, I am also serving as the editor of Didaskalia, the theological journal of Providence Theological Seminary. Alongside of a new editorial board, I have been engaged in the work of reimagining the journal and what it might look to publish interdisciplinary theological reflection in service of the church. A former student of mine has drawn my attention to an upcoming ecumenical worship service which she has been involved in planning. The service, to be held at the Church of St. Andrew Anglican (2333 Victoria Park Ave., Scarborough, ON) this coming Sunday, June 4th at 7:00 pm, is hosted by the Ministerial Association of North East Toronto.
