Providence Theological Seminary is pleased to host the distinguished theologian Ephraim Radner for a lecture entitled, “When Time Will Be No More: Reading the Bible without Historians,” on Tuesday, May 27 at 7:00 pm at St. Margaret’s Anglican Church in Winnipeg. There will also be a livestream option for remote attenders. You can register here to receive the livestream link.
Here’s a blurb for what should be a lively and intriguing lecture:
How essential is historical criticism to properly understanding the Scriptures? This talk reflects on the ethical payoff of history-writing more generally, and considers how such writing might illuminate the truth of God, and by extension the truths of God’s Word. The lecture’s conclusions seek to raise fundamental questions about whether the category of “history” itself is helpfully applied to God in relation to human life.
