My newest colleague Nate Wall-Bowering is going to be presenting a paper at our upcoming BTS Symposium entitled “Waters, Whisper, Thunder: What God’s Voice Sounds Like.” For an early-career scholar, Nate demonstrates an impressive breadth of learning. He is the rare Old Testament scholar who brings profound theological sensibilities to his work. His paper will draw on some of his doctoral research into the English poet John Donne’s engagement with the Old Testament. It’s not too late to register to attend the event in person at Providence or watch on Zoom this Thursday.

Providence Theological Seminary is both evangelical and interdenominational and exists to serve the Church by preparing and supporting leaders, developing resources, and facilitating theological reflection. The Seminary offers a variety of programs aimed at preparing students for Church, counselling, educational, global, and academic ministries.”
If you know anyone who might be a potential fit to serve in this context, please direct them to the job posting, found here.
30 OT Scholars to Watch
My colleague Lissa Wray Beal has recently been featured on biblical scholar Nijay Gupta’s blog as one of 30 Old Testament scholars to read and follow. Of course, I have been convinced of this for the past two and half years since taking up my position at Providence, but it’s good to see others catching on! You can read the full post here.
