The Biblical and Theological Studies department at Providence Theological Seminary will be hosting its Winter Symposium on March 20, 2025. Our guest speaker is Dr. Layton Friesen, a Mennonite theologian who wrote a doctoral dissertation at the Toronto School of Toronto on the theology of the Roman Catholic theologian Hans Urs von Balthasar. A revised version of his dissertation has been published as Secular Nonviolence and the Theo-Drama of Peace: Anabaptist Ethics and the Catholic Christology of Hans Urs von Balthasar. Layton currently serves as the Academic Dean of Steinbach Bible College. As usual, the event is open to those who wish to attend in-person and those who prefer to attend remotely via livestream.
