I will be responding to a presentation by our new Seminary Dean, Tim Perry, on Thursday, November 4 on the theme of eschatology and preaching. Here is a little teaser for his presentation:
How might contemporary evangelical preaching engage the topic of eschatology faithfully and clearly? Often, such preaching is overly devoted to its dispensationalist wing and contemporary popular iterations of the end times, or (perhaps in reaction) it is silent.
This paper is a plea for a re-insertion of the classical ‘last things,’ into our preaching to reengage our congregations with the question, ‘What May I Hope?’
The event will take place on the Providence campus, but will also be available on Zoom. There is no charge to attend, but registration is required in order to attend in person or to receive the Zoom link. More information can be found here.
